Nice Andy.
—AmandaYour work is starting to remind me a little of Henrich Kley’s. That’s not a bad thing tho ;)
Hey Andy, I love all of these animal sketches, so much life and movement! Where are you finding the references for them?
—Alex GThanks Amanda! Kley is definitely one of my favourite draftsmen and a big influence, I guess it’s starting to show :)
Hey Alex, thanks man! If you’re looking for some good reference of animals in motion, Getty images has some really nice clips, great for motion studies :)
—andyAwesome drawing! When you draw the animal in action, do you just go to the zoo and use them as reference. I just want to know more about your working process. If you don’t mind :)
—Calabsolutely beautiful sketches here…You can totally feel the power of that wildebeast! Just awesome….Keep up the great work!!
—Chris ChuaCal: Cheers! Where I live it’s tough to get to the zoo too often, so when that’s not an option I find video reference the next best thing - it gives a much better sense of the action than still images :)
Chris: Thanks man, I was definitely trying to capture the strength and force of these creatures, glad you liked them!
—andyThat first wildabeast drawing rocks my socks!
