Light and Dark

Below is a figure drawing from Thursday’s session, with darks and lights accentuated in Photoshop.
The more I look at master drawings (old as well as more recent), the more I’m wanting to try and push the design and shapes of the model to better give an impression of the feeling of the pose. I suppose this is a tentative attempt in that direction, it’s a lot more fun to be more conscious and selective with what I exaggerate and subordinate.

Great work on here!! I’m glad I found this blog (was going through some links). I especially like the animal drawings..they have great movement. Nice animation too..where did you get the model, or did you make it?
    take care,

    Alina: Thanks!

Jed: Hey cheers, animal sketches are always fun to do :)

Francis: Thanks for visiting, your caricature work on your blog is great! The animation rig I made myself, modeled somewhat after a few of the rigs I’ve seen on the net. Cheers!
