Another bit of animation for my reel - I had a lot of fun doing this one, hopefully it shows through.
Critiques and comments always welcome :)

Andy,
Wow man your animal sketches are just getting better and better!!! Your animation is coming along too! I really think your well on your way. I only have a few notes from a die hard 2d animator.
Ahum,,,
I really love the little movement of your pirate character adjusting his hat in contrast to all the broad movements. Brings all the attention to his determined facial expression. Nice touch=)
His gun has some serious kick back man!!! I’m not sure why he drops it the way he does after shooting it or why he does not look or react to what he just shot. You established him aiming and firing very well but the action was not really justified. Maybe he ran out of bullets? In the beginning he puts all his weight on his arm so we know he’s not a weakling, but then after shooting his pistol his arm goes flying back.
The difference between a good writer and a bad writer is that the good writer revises, revises, revises, and still revises, where as the poor writer does not. With so many animators flooding the market place, the question is, can you afford not to revise?
—RobertHey Robert, thanks for your comments, it’s definitely appreciated!
I did want to have an extreme recoil on the gun, just because it’s more fun to do and I think shows the action more clearly than just a puff of smoke. And the reason he throws it away is because the flintlock pistols are a one-shot deal and he’s about to run into more action with his sword. He wouldn’t have time to reload, so he just tosses it so it doesn’t get in the way.
There’s definitely things I’d like to go back to and tweak, and I might if I have time between other things, but there tends to be a point where it has to be done with and I just take what I’ve learned and move on :)
Thanks again for the feedback!
